Meet Rachel Armstrong

I've spent my life around small business.

I understand small business because I've spent my life living it. I grew up in a family that owned several businesses, and I've run businesses of my own — which is exactly why I built Armstrong Quality Financial Services around the kind of bookkeeping support I wish I'd had sooner.

Meet Rachel

The person helping with your books should understand your business.

I grew up in a family that owned several businesses — construction, furniture and Mexican imports, advertising, and farming. I started selling things I made in my parents' stores as a child, helped sell furniture and imports by age ten, and launched a baking business at eighteen. As an adult, I also owned and operated a farm business.

Today, through Armstrong Quality Financial Services, I provide bookkeeping and business support that helps owners understand their numbers, stay organized, and make confident decisions. I'm the founder and the primary person behind the work — and I'm building something that can grow beyond me over time.

Small business started early for me

I've been part of small business for as long as I can remember.

My family ran a mix of businesses — construction, furniture and Mexican imports, advertising, and farming. I started out selling things I made in my parents' stores as a child, and by age ten I was helping sell furniture and imports. I launched a baking business at eighteen, and later owned and operated a farm business as an adult.

That hands-on background shaped how I think about books. When you've watched a family run several businesses, you learn that organized records aren't a luxury — they're what keep the whole thing understandable.

My introduction to bookkeeping came as a teenager, when I helped my family with financial reports in Excel and began learning QuickBooks Desktop. When my husband and I started Armstrong Quality Construction in 2015, I took responsibility for our books.

I eventually moved from Excel to QuickBooks Online because I wanted current, useful information without constantly creating separate reports just to understand our business. That experience is what showed me how much difference a clear, consistent bookkeeping process actually makes.

From spreadsheets to a real system

Excel → QuickBooks Desktop → QuickBooks Online

I wanted current information I could actually use — not a pile of reports I had to rebuild every time I wanted to understand where the business stood.

Why I built Armstrong Quality

That experience grew into a passion for helping other small-business owners.

Over the years, I've helped people start businesses, organize their books, and develop systems that make everyday operations easier. I'm naturally drawn to finding more efficient ways to work, and I enjoy helping owners get more value from the tools and resources they already have.

That's why I'm building Armstrong Quality around practical systems, clear communication, and bookkeeping support that can grow with your business — not a one-size-fits-all package that ignores how you actually work.

I keep learning

Continuing education is part of how I strengthen my skills and support my clients.

To build on my practical experience, I completed several Udemy courses in bookkeeping, payroll, and QuickBooks in 2022. I've since earned my QuickBooks ProAdvisor Level 1 certification and plan to complete Level 2 in the near future.

I'm also pursuing additional QuickBooks training, including QuickBooks Workforce and payroll-related tools. Those are continuing-education goals — not credentials I've already earned — and they're an important part of how I keep getting better at this work.

Why time matters to me

I know how challenging it can be to balance work and family.

As a business owner and mother of four who has spent years homeschooling, I understand why bookkeeping sometimes falls behind — and how much relief the right support can bring.

My goal is to help you build practical systems that keep your business running smoothly and give you more time for the work and people you care about. That experience is part of why I care so much about creating bookkeeping processes that actually fit a real life.

Where I'm headed

My long-term vision is bigger than a bookkeeping job for myself.

I plan to continue my education, become a CPA, and grow Armstrong Quality into a firm that helps small businesses with bookkeeping, operations, tax preparation, and planning.

As the firm grows, I also hope to create flexible opportunities for parents and others who want to do meaningful work while supporting their families. Armstrong Quality is founder-led today — and I'm intentionally building something capable of becoming a larger firm over time.

Becoming a CPA and adding tax preparation are future goals, not current services.
